PVO Code of Conduct: Enforcing ESG Standards Across the Supply Chain

As your procurement partner specialized in all products related to solar energy systems we value transparency, sustainability and quality throughout our supply chain. Our recent initiatives mark our way in taking the next step on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.  As 100% owned subsidiary of DCC plc, one of our key requirements is transparency on ESG topics. PVO operates under its own Code of Conduct, reflecting our dedication to transparency and responsible business practices. We emphasize key principles in our Code of Conduct, including a warranty of fundamental human and labor rights, decent working conditions, anti-corruption and anti-bribery policies, and a robust environment and safety policy.

Operational Transparency: PVO’s Code of Conduct

PVO’s code of Conduct does not only comply with DCC’s code of conduct, it also strives to align and improve the efforts of our suppliers and third parties. Together with the team, Monique van Zelst, Legal Counsel at  PVO International, ensures PVO’s promises are kept within the Code of Conduct guidelines. We asked Monique to elaborate on the most common questions about PVO’s Code of Conduct and how our practices can strengthen your solar projects.

1. How does PVO’s Code of Conduct align with our ESG principles?

  • PVO’s Code of Conduct is in perfect alignment with (part of) our ESG principles and forms an integral part of all contracts with our suppliers and subcontractors.

An important part of PVO’s Code of Conduct is Human and labor rights. By signing an agreement with PVO, the supplier contractually agrees to respect human rights and the principles of non-discrimination in all its activities as defined in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labor Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and the Ten Principles of United Nations Global Compact.

Another important part of PVO’s Code of Conduct is Environment, in which it is stated that the supplier must adhere to the principles of sustainable development and avoid or minimize the adverse effects on the environment.

2. What measures does PVO take to ensure compliance with anti-corruption and anti-bribery policies

  • PVO focuses strongly on anti-corruption and anti-bribery as this forms one of the pillars of our core values. Our Code of Conduct reflects this as Responsible business. Our suppliers must act ethically and responsibly. The supplier commits to comply with competition law in all its activities and the supplier (or its employees) shall not give, offer or receive any direct or indirect bribes or other benefits that may be considered corruption or that may appear otherwise inappropriate.

3. Looking forward, how will PVO continue to evolve its Code of Conduct to meet the dynamic demands of the solar energy market and ESG expectations?

  • Both PVO’s Code of Conduct as well as PVO’s ESG & Traceability Promise are continuously evolving. Besides being member of trade associations in the solar energy market, we keep very close watch on all national and international developments in legislation.

As market leader PVO tirelessly continues to strive for excellence and will always make sure to pave the way in high standards and pro-actively create a new market standard, not only for PV but for our entire range of products. PVO is currently in the process of extending its high standards in ESG and traceability excellence across all product categories, including batteries.
